Valentine Roofing Customer Guide
The purpose of this handy guide is to familiarize you with all the things you need to know regarding your upcoming project.
BEFORE THE PROJECT
- Communications: The sales estimator you have worked with is no longer your point of contact. To help with this transition, it is important that all understandings between you and your estimator are written in the contract so our production team can carry out your project as expected and as agreed to.
- Contact Person: To avoid miscommunication or confusion, we prefer that you designate one point of contact on your end and have that person handle all communications with our production team.
- Experience Manager Introduction Call: When we are getting closer to your project, you will receive this phone call from your experience manager to review your contract and logistical details.
- Delivery Call: Your experience manager will give you advanced notice of your deliveries; no start date will be given until approximately 48hrs before the project start.
DURING THE PROJECT
- Project Kickoff: We ask that you are available onsite during the project kickoff to meet your site foreman, provide attic access, and review project details. If you are unable to do so on the first day of the project, we can arrange for you to meet your foreman later in the project.
- Access and Electricity: We will need full access to your driveway. Please do not park in your driveway or garage starting the night before deliveries. Please keep in mind that the disposal container and other deliveries may arrive very early in the morning. We will also be using your electrical outlets and will need access to your breaker box.
- Experience Manager Hours: Our production department is in-office Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The production department can be reached directly at (206) 575-7807.
- Satellite Dish: If you have a satellite dish attached to your roof, we will carefully remove the dish. To have your dish re-installed and re-establish your service, you will need to coordinate with your satellite provider.
- Roof Removal: Please be aware that roofing projects are typically loud and can cause vibrations inside the home. Some dust and debris will fall into your attic, garage, and possibly through your skylight openings and any room with trusses exposed during the project. We suggest setting up a drop cloth under the areas you want to protect. We will not be performing a cleanup inside your house, attic, or garage.
- Roof Installation: Our crew will use appropriately sized fasteners to install your new roofing material. These fasteners typically penetrate the soffits or overhangs of the house and may be noticeable because the paint around the nail is broken. Please be assured this is only aesthetic. Most homeowners find that painting the soffits causes the new fasteners to be unnoticeable. Please keep in mind that we do not perform this painting or touch-up work.
AFTER THE PROJECT
- Dumpster Removal: Occasionally, debris (which may include nails) may be left behind by the disposal company when removing the dumpster after project completion. Please check for debris after removal.
- Gutters and Insulation: Gutter installations will be performed by a separate crew and take place after the roofing invoice is paid. Insulation projects may be performed before, during, or after your roofing project and will be on the same invoice as your roof.
- Painted Gutters: Please be aware that if you have painted gutters, you are likely to see some chipping or scratches on your gutters after your roofing project. Paint doesn’t hold well on gutters and the slightest touch can leave them scratched. Touch-up paint may be necessary after your project.
